IPv6 Specialists
The Internet as we currently
experience it is based on the IPv4 protocol. As of the 31st of January
2011, IANA - the global body for assignment of new IP subnets - ran out
of IPv4 prefixes to assign to regional authorities. The exhaustion of
the IPv4 space means that the Internet will increasingly migrate towards
the new IPv6 protocol. Some ISPs already support the new protocol,
while others are planning their migration to IPv6.
The
transition to IPv6 is not an easy step to make - it is a radical change
in the fundamental architecture of the Internet, but through Entac,
support is available. IPv6
brings a wealth of new features with it, as well as finally solving
long standing problems with IPv4 such as the need for NAT, as well as
properly built-in security and mobile support.
